We do everything on a “Time and Material” basis. Some plumbing companies have gone to a “flat rate” pricing schedule. Although it has some appealing aspects to it, we've found it doesn't work well in the plumbing business. With auto repair it works because a brake job is a brake job. But, with plumbing, a $50.00 faucet is very different from a $500.00 faucet so why would you have one rate for two very different jobs? We've found that people feel overcharged when a “flat rate” system is consistently applied because they have to charge “worst case” on every job even though your job might be much easier!! Our philosophy on pricing is we want it to be right on. If it's too much, our customers won't call us back and if it's too little, we can't pay our employees the wages they deserve. The key is BALANCE.
